Reading Scripture

The Reader, translations, highlights, and study tools.

The Reader is where you read a passage and everything you need sits beside it rather than on top of it.

Choosing a passage

Type a reference (Romans 8, Rom 8:28, John 3) or use search. Chapter arrows move you through a book.

Translations

Free: the Berean Standard Bible, the World English Bible, and the King James Version. Plus adds the New American Standard Bible, the New Living Translation, and the Christian Standard Bible.

Switching translation keeps your place and your highlights — a highlight is anchored to the words, not to a page.

We don't carry the ESV or the NIV — we don't have a license for their text.

Highlights

Select any phrase and highlight it. Highlights are yours, they persist across translations, and they show up later when you're writing about that passage.

Word study

Tap a word to see its original-language entry: the Greek or Hebrew behind it, what it means, and where else it appears.

Words shows your translation's tags when it has them, KJV when it does not, and says so. That is the same at every altitude — one tapped word, one verse, or the whole chapter. It never guesses: a word is only ever matched to an original-language entry where a real tagging exists for it, never inferred from a translation that carries none.
