Connect Selah Bible Study to Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or any MCP client.
Selah Bible Study can be connected to an AI assistant you already use. Once connected, you can ask the assistant to read Bible passages, search your study notes, save a note or prayer, or mark today's reading done, and it happens in your Selah Bible Study account.
Where it works
The server address is below. It uses OAuth. Selah Bible Study is listed on
the official MCP Registry as so.selah/selah.
https://selah.so/api/mcpEach assistant asks you to sign in with your Selah Bible Study account (or create one) and to allow the connection. Nothing is shared until you do. Creating that account is free. Listing the tools works on a free account. Calling any tool requires Selah Plus, on Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and every other MCP client. A free account's call is refused and does no work. There is no separate free allowance for these calls, and the 30 companion messages a month do not cover them.
Claude
- Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Paste
https://selah.so/api/mcp. - Sign in with your Selah Bible Study account when prompted.
ChatGPT
- Open Plugins, choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Selah Bible Study. Under Connection, paste
https://selah.so/api/mcpand choose OAuth. - Confirm the warning, create it as a plugin, and install it.
- Sign in with your Selah Bible Study account when prompted.
Grok
- Open Connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom.

Any MCP client
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth can connect using

Bible Study account when prompted.
What the assistant can do
Read Bible passages (Berean Standard Bible, World English Bible, King James Version), look up cross-references and a Strong's Greek or Hebrew entry by its number, search your study notes, add to a note, save a capture or a prayer, update a prayer's status, and start or keep up a reading plan.
What it can't do
It can add to a note, but it can't rewrite or delete the text you wrote, change your settings, or read any other translation than the three above. Those stay in Selah itself. It never sees another person's notes — every tool acts only on the account you connected.
Removing the connection
Disconnect Selah from inside the assistant — each one has a connectors page. The assistant loses access within a minute; nothing you saved is removed.
